Outback by the Sea Festival
The Carpentaria Shire Council, vistors to the region and local community, enjoyed the highly anticipated Outback By The Sea Festival in Normanton and Karumba from September 13 to 21, 2024.This incredible week-long celebration featured the iconic barramundi, delectable seafood, vibrant live music, Indigenous cultural displays, and an array of arts and crafts. Attendees were immersed in the diverse and vibrant atmosphere of the Gulf community.
This year's festival introduced a new highlight – the Outback and Ocean Film Festival, showcasing Australia's latest short films. Local filmmakers had the exciting opportunity to present their creations on the big screen during this cinematic addition to the festivities. Don't miss your chance next year to partake in this unique event, promising an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

Outback by the Sea Festival is back - a week-long annual event held in the Gulf of Carpentaria celebrating the legendary barramundi, seafood, live music, Indigenous culture, and arts and crafts.
Starring, Fanny Lumsden, Shane Howard and local band Split Image. Closing concert - Saturday 21st September Karumba Recreation Centre.
Tickets are now on sale online via Oztix or can be purchased in person at the Carpentaria Shire Council Office or the Les Wilson Barramundi Centre.
